Korg Minilogue Output Level Low

Has anyone noticed that the Korg Minilogue output level is quite low, even though you turn the Minilogue’s volume knob to the maximum, and gain the input on the mixer rather high?

It can be one of many things, but it is not easily solved other than increase the input gain on the mixer pre-fader.  Once we increased the input gain on our mixers, we had a hot enough level on the Minilogue at 75% volume setting.

Here is the best process to adjust your input gain (also known as Trim) on most mixers:

  1. Select your input channel
  2. Set the gain knob to 0
  3. Set the mixer fader for the input channel to 0 (not all the way down, but 0dB (should be about 70-75% up)
  4. Play a note or a sequence on the Minilogue while slowly increasing the Input Gain or Trim knob
  5. It should never clip but hit Green and Yellow, or in the case of analog VU meters, 0dB, and maybe on rare occasion, it should hit Red or past the 0dB on an analog VU meter

You now have a hot enough output on your Korg Minilogue.

Cheers!
