Pro Tools Session Mixing

We offer mixing of Pro Tools Sessions in both Pro Tools and Pro Tools HD

The mixing begins with your session. You will provide us with your Pro Tools session, ensuring that all plug-ins are printed to a file, and we will take the original session files.

We copy the session files on a dedicated client drive for you that will only hold the originals of your content that we will be working on.

We take a copy of the session off of the dedicated client drive, and begin our process.

We can do the session mixing one of two ways:

  1. ITB – or In The Box mixing. We will take your session and mix it in the box (ITB) and process both an MP3 file and a Broadcast WAV file per song.
  2. OTB – Outside The Box mixing. We will take your session and mix it outside of the box into one of the following, and offer both an MP3 and Broadcast WAV file per song:
  • SSL SuperAnalog console (either the K Series or G series mixer)
  • Neve console
  • API console

Either way, you get a great sounding track for a fraction of the cost of taking your session into a studio and renting time, equipment, and an engineer. The OTB mixing price varies upon the mixer, however, it will be significantly lower than going into a studio that has an SSL 9000, 4000, Neve 5088 or an API1608.

For those interested in the details, the AD/DA converter in use will be either the Apogee Symphony I/O or Avid HD I/O (current version) both capable of 32 bits/192kHz.

How we would like the files:

Bit Depth/Sampling Rate: 24bit/192kHz maximum, but prefer 24bit/44.1kHz or 24bit/96kHz. We can accept other bit depth and sampling rate.

Instantiated plug-ins must be printed to a file. All files that have not been printed will not be used for the mixing, and we will notify you that the session needs to be printed before proceeding.

Must be no more than 64 tracks for ITB, and contact us for number of tracks for OTB for a specific console.

The files that may have been chopped up within a track must be consolidated into a single, contiguous file. Please print your edits.

Please clean up session prior to creating a copy for us to mix by deleting hidden or inactive tracks, unused playlists, unused WAV files.

No automation. The automation or fader rides or mutes should already be in the WAV file.

We currently accept PT 10, 11, and 12 files only.  If we receive versions before 10, we will convert them into PT 11.  Please let us know before provide a session document prior to version 10.
